How we work

As OPUS Consultants:

… we rely on what Keats termed ‘negative capability’ as the state of mind that allows new ideas to emerge, rather than returning to the safety of repeating what we know

… we work on behalf of the whole of the client organisation in order to keep all possibilities in mind and test all assumptions framing our assignment

… we treat planning as a means of anticipating and allowing for the indirect effects of change rather than imposing a script, so that there is room to adapt to emergent consequences

… we value listening and observing as ways to make sense of what is happening, as well as asking questions and gathering information

… we see our expertise as being able to work with the uncertainty and complexity of what we encounter rather than drawing early conclusions or using reductive explanations to give the illusion of control
